Procedures at ICCU
Since 1989, the Intensive Cardiac Care Unit of Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol, is the area dedicated to the care of acute and severe heart disease.
With over 800 annual admissions is a referral center for cardiac emergencies, especially those requiring specialized diagnostic techniques or treatments that can only be performed at our center. Within the Codi Infart program from the Department of Health of the Catalan Government (urgent care to myocardial infarction with ST elevation), our unit is available 24 hours a day, seven days per week. The unit is also the receptor of patients requiring urgent or emergency surgery in the perioperative period.
Our Unit meets the requirements of the regulations of the European Society of Cardiology.
We work together with Resident physicians who play a fundamental rol in medical assistance, specially during the hours on duty.
