The Department of Cardiology has lately experienced a significant increase in its research activity, becoming a leading team in some research areas, particularly heart failure and cardiac regeneration (more than 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts since 2007); has obtained 4 patents and participates in 2 7th Frame Work projects (RECATABI and HeartCycle).
