There is a need to develop and implement more effective strategies to assess and monitor heart failure (HF) patient’s congestion. Bioimpedance (Bi) is a non invasive method of body composition analysis useful for the assessment of soft tissue hydration.
We aimed to develop a device that allows easy and reproducible measurements of Bi at lung level to measure thoracic congestion in HF patients.

It is known that congestive heart failure (HF) patients have have a hyperdrated status. We are interested in the use of whole-body (right-side) bioimpedance measurements to assessed the hydration status HF patients, clinically stable and decompensated patients. We have shown that both groups, decompensated patients but also clinically stable patients are hyperhydrated compared to the reference population.
- reference population
- clinically stable patients (G1)
- decompensated patients (G2)
